"Fashion Nugget is the second album by Cake, an alternative rock band from Sacramento, California. It was released in 1996 , and contains fourteen songs. An instrumental version of "Italian Leather Sofa" was later used as the theme song for the TV show Mission Hill. The album received a Parental Advisory sticker for profanity in "I Will Survive" (a single instance of 'fucking', which was not in the original version by Gloria Gaynor) and extensive use of 'fuck' in the chorus of 'Nugget'.

James Gang - James Gang Rides Again

Genre: Classic Heavy Rock
Size: 47.99 MB

"The exceptionally talented Rock group James Gang have released their CD entitled Rides Again. I am very confident and happy to announce that I believe James Gang fans, and Rock fans alike will be pleased with this one. With the release of Rides Again their artistic excellence is on full display as they have once again delivered a brilliant collection of tracks that could very well be their best work to date.

It's a rare day indeed that I get a CD from an artist that I can truthfully say does not have a bad track in the bunch. I'm more than happy to announce that’s exactly what I must say about this one. There simply is NOT a bad one in the bunch. No fillers here at all, with each song standing tall on it's own.

One of the nicer things about a CD like this is with this level of talent even if Rock isn’t your favorite style you still can’t help but appreciate the greatness of the musicians.

Overall Rides Again is outstanding from beginning to end. One of those CDs that after a few listens the songs are just etched into your memory. A must have for the Rock fan. Really sensational from beginning to end.

While the entire album is outstanding some of my favorites are track 5 - Tend My Garden, track 7 - There I Go Again, and track 9 - Ashes The Rain And I

My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On Repeat"] is track 1 - Funk #49. Outstanding!"

Tracklist:

1. Funk #49
2. Asshton Park
3. Woman
4. The Bomber
5. Tend My Garden
6. Garden Gate
7. There I Go Again

Harmonium - Si On Avait Besoin D'Une Cinquième Saison

Genre: Psychedelic Rock
Size: 83.54 MB

"Si on avait besoin d'une cinquième saison (If We Needed a Fifth Season), also known as Les Cinq Saisons (The Five Seasons), is the second album from Quebec band Harmonium, released in 1975. The album marks a departure from the folk rock sound of Harmonium towards a unique progressive rock sound. Serge Fiori, Michel Normandeau and Louis Valois are joined this time by Pierre Daigneault and Serge Locat. Marie Bernard also provides her expertise for the Ondes Martenot, while Judi Richards sings in "Histoires sans paroles". The album's theme revolves around the four seasons, with a track for each, and a new fifth season in "Histoires Sans Paroles", a 17-minute song. "Dixie" is also a notable track because of Locat's unforgettable piano solo. Si on avait besoin d'une cinquième saison, while a transitional album, became an influential album in Quebec's music history. Some lyrics on this album, like on Depuis l'Automne can show the separatist ideology shared by the band at that time.

Tracklist:
1. Vert (Green)
2. Dixie (Une Toune Qui Me Revient) (Dixie [A Tune That I Remind])
3. Depuis L'automne (Since The Autumn)
4. En Pleine Face (Right In The Face)
5. Histoires Sans Paroles (Stories Without Lyrics)

Funkadelic - One Nation Under A Groove

Genre: Funk
Size: 86.16 MB

"

One Nation Under a Groove

is the tenth album by American funk/soul/rock band Funkadelic. It was released in September of 1978 on Warner Bros. Records . One Nation Under a Groove was Funkadelic's most commercially successful album, and one of its most critically lauded; it is widely considered one of the best funk albums of all time, and one of the most influential albums of the late 1970s. It was the first album to include keyboardist and frequent songwriter Walter "Junie" Morrison. The album also marks the pinnacle of Michael Hampton's development as a guitarist as he matured from a seventeen-year old prodigy to a disciplined master of the instrument. One Nation Under a Groove is a very loose concept album (as are most of Funkadelic's), essentially declaring the power of Funk (see P Funk mythology) to do two interconnected things: become an open-minded, happy and goal oriented person, and dance well. This is the power of Funk stated in less clear terms on previous albums (Free Your Mind... And Your Ass Will Follow). The last three tracks of CD reissues were originally distributed as "bonus-EP". Some latter vinyl editions omit these tracks. In 2003, the album was ranked number 177 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. It appeared on Vibe's 100 Essential Albums of the 20th Century list. In 2006, the album gained renewed exposure when the title track was featured in the internet phenomenon video The Spirit of Truth.

Los Lobos - How Will the Wolf Survive?

Genre: Latin American Rock (Think Los Lonely Boys, but better.)
Size: 46.38 MB

"How Will the Wolf Survive? is the major label debut album of Los Lobos. In 1989, it was ranked #30 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 100 greatest albums of the 1980s. In 2003, the album was ranked number 461 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time."

"Los Lobos's ability to wade through disparate musical styles isn't the stuff of Elvis and the Beatles, but Los Lobos did it on their debut album. And, unlike much of the material Los Lobos cut their teeth on as a Los Angeles Top 40 cover band, there is nothing lowest-common-denominator about the band's original music. "Don't Worry Baby" is a blues rocker gritty enough for John Lee Hooker; rockabilly meets country, courtesy of David Hidalgo's lap steel, on "Our Last Night"; Cesar Rosas pays homage to the band's Mexican roots on the mariachi-style "Corrido #1"; and "Will the Wolf Survive?" is an infectious jangle rocker that became an early MTV hit. Seamless. File under American Music."

Tracklist:
1. Don't Worry Baby
2. A Matter of Time
3. Corrido #1
4. Our Last Night
5. The Breakdown

Genre: Hip-hop Electronica
Size: 63.59 MB

"The debut album from Cut Chemist, formerly of pioneering underground hip-hop group Jurassic 5, The Audience's Listening is evocative of an era when sound enthusiasts put out records for the adventure of it, not as a vehicle tied to hit singles and booty-shaking videos. Using a turntable, mixer and computer to create the songs, this gifted DJ has conjured an homage to what is possible. Varied, uplifting and unexpected, rooted in hip-hop but leaping into new sonic territory, The Audience's Listening offers musical magic created by the alchemist known as Cut Chemist."

Stan Getz: The Bossa Nova Years (CD4)

Genre: Bossa Nova
Size: 70.1 MB

Continued from Wikipedia:
"In 1972, Getz recorded in the fusion idiom with Chick Corea and Stanley Clarke. This group, without Getz, went on to be the famous Return to Forever, and many of the pieces including "La Fiesta" remained in their repertoire. In this period Getz experimented with an Echoplex on his saxophone, for which critics vilified him. He eventually discarded fusion and "electric jazz", returning to acoustic jazz, while at the same time gradually de-emphasizing the Bossa Nova, opting for more esoteric and less-mainstream jazz. He had a cameo in the movie The Exterminator (1980). Towards the end of his life the now drug-free Getz had another creative peak with a group including the pianist Kenny Barron, whom Getz described as "my musical other half". In 1986, he was inducted into the Down Beat Jazz Hall of Fame."

Stan Getz: The Bossa Nova Years (CD3)

Genre: Bossa Nova
Size: 70.1 MB

Continued from Wikipedia:
"Returning to America from Europe in 1961, Getz became a central figure in introducing bossa nova music to the U.S. audience. Teaming with guitarist Charlie Byrd, who had just returned from a U.S. State Department tour of Brazil, Getz recorded Jazz Samba in 1962 and it became a hit. The title track was an adaptation of Antonio Carlos Jobim's "One Note Samba (Samba de Uma Nota Só)". Getz won the Grammy for Best Jazz Performance of 1963 for "Desafinado", off of the same album. As a follow-up, Getz recorded Jazz Samba Encore! with one of the originators of bossa nova, Brazilian guitarist Luiz Bonfa.

He then recorded the album Getz/Gilberto with Tom Jobim, João Gilberto and his wife, Astrud Gilberto. Their "The Girl from Ipanema" won a Grammy Award. The piece became one of the most well-known latin jazz cuts of all time. Getz/Gilberto won two Grammys (Best Album and Best Single), besting The Beatles' A Hard Day's Night, a victory for Bossa Nova and Brazilian jazz. A live album, Getz/Gilberto #2, followed, as did Getz Au Go Go, a recording made live at the Cafe Au Go Go. Unfortunately, Getz' affair with Astrud Gilberto brought an end to his musical partnership with her and her husband and he began to move away from bossa-nova and back to cool jazz. Even while still working with the Gilbertos, he recorded Nobody Else But Me an album of straightforward jazz with a new quartet including vibraphonist Gary Burton, but Verve Records, wishing to continue building the Getz brand with bossa-nova, refused to release it. It eventually came out 30 years later, after Getz had died."

Stan Getz: The Bossa Nova Years (CD2)

Genre: Bossa Nova
Size: 63.02 MB

Continued from Wikipedia:

"In 1943, he was accepted into Jack Teagarden's band, and because of his youth he became Teagarden's ward. Getz also played along with Nat King Cole and Lionel Hampton. After playing for Stan Kenton, Jimmy Dorsey, and Benny Goodman, Getz was a soloist with Woody Herman from 1947 to 1949 in 'The Second Herd' and he first gained wide attention as one of the band's saxophonists, who were known collectively as 'The Four Brothers', the others being Serge Chaloff, Zoot Sims and Herbie Steward. With Herman, he had a hit with "Early Autumn" and after Getz left 'The Second Herd' he was able to launch his solo career. He would be the leader on almost all of his recording sessions after 1950.

In the 1950s, Getz became popular playing cool jazz with Horace Silver, Johnny Smith, Oscar Peterson, and many others. His first two quintets were notable for their personnel, including Charlie Parker's rhythm section of drummer Roy Haynes, pianist Al Haig and bassist Tommy Potter. A 1953 line-up of the Dizzy Gillespie/Stan Getz Sextet featured Gillespie, Getz, Oscar Peterson, Herb Ellis, Ray Brown and Max Roach."
